God's Fortress Ministries
In
various Christian circles it has been urged that true Church is not confined
only to the four walls of the Church, rather it’s out in the community. This
has been the drive here at GFM. In the quest of fulfilling the Great Commission
(Mat 18:18-20) evangelism, outreaches and soul winning have taken center stage
at the Church since moving to home grounds in Komamboga.
In March 2021 a month
outreach was done within the Church’s vicinity that led to 201 souls making
decisions for CHRIST JESUS. It was an honour to have had Life Ministry Uganda
as a key stakeholder in this campaign. This was prior to a Community drive of
cleaning garbage and burning piles of rubbish, a move that included over 40
community member being part.
However so much time was lost in this regard due
to Church lockdowns in the midst of covid-19 impact on the nation during the
latter part of 2020 and most of 2021. Now with lifting of lockdowns and Church
opening, evangelism and outreach will soon get back on track in variety of ways
as the Holy Spirit leads (Rom 8:14).
Kamonkoli Mission
This
is majorly a partnership between GFM and Kamonkoli Prayer Center It’s organized
annually in the areas of Palisa, Budaka, and nearby suburbs. GFM arranges
financial contributions and puts together home assorted items majorly used but
good clothes among others.
Then we are presented by our Brother in Christ, Joseph
Sendawula, and a few willing members. Since 2016 over 200 souls have been won to
Christ, struggling believers strengthened, and communities meaningfully engaged.
Katanga Mission
This
place is located in Wandegeya ‘down slummy areas’. In these kind of settlements people live in
very challenging and desperate circumstances. Their homes are appalling, food
is rare so children starve no schooling, and the little cash in adult hands
majorly goes to drinking. Meanwhile violence and drugs are the order of the day
among other evils.
This is always the burden to reach out and take the gospel
for community transformation annually. Close to 30 parentless children are
among those regularly reached out.
