Our Leaders

God's Fortress Ministries

OUR TEAM

At the birth of GFM in 2016, the only formal leadership structure in place was the creation of a Strategic Ministry Team (SMT) to support the Pastoral Team in the day-to-day running of the ministry, in alignment with Proverbs 11:14—"Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety." Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in November 2017, the congregation nominated Elders and Deacons to establish a structured Church Government. This leadership framework was further strengthened with the creation of the Vision Trust Board, which serves as the overall governing body of the church, providing spiritual oversight, strategic direction, and stewardship in fulfilling GFM’s mission. Through this God-ordained structure, we continue to grow in faith, unity, and purpose, ensuring that every decision and action aligns with His divine will.

THE VISION TRUST BOARD (VTB)

The Vision Trust Board (VTB) serves as the cornerstone of strategic leadership within GFM. This team provides overall direction, oversight, and guidance to ensure that the church’s efforts align with our God-given vision and long-term goals. The VTB:
Develops and oversees the implementation of the church's strategic plans and initiatives.
Ensures that resources are managed effectively to support the mission of the church.
Provides wisdom and leadership for major decisions, ensuring that the church stays true to its purpose of being a Christ-centered fortress and home.
Acts as stewards of the vision, safeguarding the spiritual and operational health of GFM for both current and future generations.

OUR DEACONS

The Deacons are entrusted with the day-to-day operations of the church, ensuring that practical matters are handled with diligence and care. With a hands-on approach, the Deacons:
• Oversee the management of the church's facilities, finances, and resources to create an environment conducive to worship and fellowship.
• Support ministries and programs by coordinating logistics and meeting practical needs to ensure smooth execution of church activities.
• Serve as a vital link between the congregation and leadership, addressing concerns, offering assistance, and fostering unity within the body of Christ.
• Reflect Christ’s servant heart through their acts of service, ensuring that no detail is overlooked in making GFM a welcoming and functional place for all.

OUR ELDERS

The Elders focus on the spiritual health, growth, and maturity of the church. Dedicated to nurturing believers, they serve as spiritual shepherds and mentors to the congregation. The Elders:
Provide biblical teaching, guidance, and counseling to help individuals grow in their relationship with Christ.
Uphold the church in prayer, interceding for the spiritual and physical needs of the members.
Offer pastoral care and support, walking alongside individuals and families through joys, challenges, and trials.
Promote spiritual maturity by mentoring leaders, facilitating small groups, and creating opportunities for deeper discipleship and study of God’s Word.
